The List

Written on January 29, 2008 – 1:42 am | by Diva Blogger |

I keep something like this beside me all the time. Just in case I find something nice to blog about. Ideas are like dreams that come and go. One may have felt so strongly about it while it’s there, but when the moment passes, the same emotions along with the details are gone.

Having said that, I also noted that some ideas are good only inside the head. Writing it on paper and reading it aloud seem to dull the essence somewhat. I wanted to be an uninhibited blogger, and I didn’t filter what I wrote on my list. But when actually posting them, something akin to a blogger’s conscience creeps in.

I envy the likes of slamblogger and Sam Freedom who can write about controversial issues and just let the bad feedback slide down their backs. Getting exposed to these people made me realize that blogging is also about developing a thick skin, and not letting the comments get to me.

Unfortunately, skills like handling-a-controversy-smoothly come with time. I was always sensitive as a non-blogger, and now that I’m in this world of thought-publishing, it might be a good idea to change a bit.

But for now, I’ll start with my list, and will try not to cross out too many things on it.

Thanks for the link. You’re right, it does take a thick skin…

Oh come now, darling… have no fear. Whenever you are in doubt, or in need of letting the bad, or controversial, commentary roll of your back, just lift up your pillow and beneath it you will find the answer - 48 of them, to be exact.

    Right?

i am the “academic” power wielder. Theoretical approach is not even close to the actual application, sadly. But I have to start somewhere.
