My First Hate Mail: Stoked!

Written on February 27, 2008 – 12:45 am | by Diva Blogger |

My excitement at the novelty of my first time to receive hate mail hasn’t passed. it’s not for my own organic posts though, but a guest post.

My guest poster is funny guy MonkeyChapps and the one who made the post stumble worthy is Witchypoo, for good reason. The post talks about a guy’s willingness to let a girl use him for a taste of somewhat-love. People also found it funny, but not this girl (the one who sent the hate mail).

She took the post seriously and found it pathetic. I guess she felt like she’s speaking for the rest of affronted females who detest man-ho’s and the like. I was very patient and gracious in explaining that the guy was just being funny. Despite the insults, i found myself grinning. Wow, hate mail! A reaction to my blog that didn’t get many hits a few months ago.

I wonder though… if hate came pouring in, will I cry? I dunno, maybe. :D Or maybe I’ll be stoked all over again.

lol, interesting. I guess that’s good though, at least you know people are reading and you are getting strong reactions from people. )

I haven’t had any “hate” mail, per se, but I have had some arguments between comments before. lol.

    Good stuff !

    Hi Kevin!

I think that the people who would rather send mail than comment are those who are scared of what people will say about their comments. Mailing is like a one way conversation. You mail some insults then you auto-block the response. That way, you get the last word in. Or something.

    Haha. Still stoked.

A little hate mail can be a good thing - means you’re stirring things up.

I haven’t gotten any hate mail yet myself. Though I did get some harsh comments on a post I made on a group blog of fatbloggers (and they promptly dropped me from posting) - they accused me of being anorexic and not promoting health ??? I was like ok yeah right - I weigh over 200 lbs LOL show me one anorexic over 200?? and just because I need to take a diuretic (perscribed by the doctor) for my heart to help reduce the fluid retention and I take a few herbal supplements they also accused me of seeing a shaman and not a real doctor.

(note I mean no disrespect I know anorexic is a serious condition - I just found it bizaar that of all things I was accused of it).

Your blog is definitely interesting, keep on keeping it real, let the emails fall where they may.

    Health and Happiness

I’ve seen how people gang up on others on threads or forums, and they could be pretty nasty. You must be feisty yourself as you were able to defend yourself from those attacks.
    Kudos!
