PW Campaigners: Do You Know What You’re Paying For?

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Cruising around the blogosphere dropping cards, I noticed the preponderance of splog sites riddled with Project Wonderful ads, most of which are empty (showing the Your Ad Here message). This reminds me of the splogs riddled with 336 width text ads by google.

The funny thing is that most advertisers in Project Wonderful add these sites to their campaigns. Maybe the cost to advertise isn’t much (0.00-0.01) but it’s still 0.01 that the advertiser pays for an ad that is at the bottom of the page or at the remote lower left side.

I had some luck doing campaigns on sites with above the fold Project Wonderful ads, but now I have decided to manually check the sites first before placing my ad. I don’t care if the site has an extremely low Alexa ranking or not, as long as my ad is at a location that’s above the fold and isn’t already saturated with 125×125 banners.

We saw the rise of “for google only” sites, now it’s the age of the “for PW only” sites.

Lady Luck Smiles (Contests Won)

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

The first one is the “What is Social Networking” contest by Chaindrop.com. It’s funny because Turnip just sent me the link to the contest and I ended up winning. I was lucky number 9, and the prize moolah was 3k Entrecard credits. That’s 30 dollars, if converted to the standard credit=dollar scheme in Entrecard.

Would anyone like to buy some advertising credits? I got 3k up for grabs right now! Price is negotiable. Just use my contact form.

^_^

The second contest I joined and won is the Easy PLR contest from internetmarketing sweetie. This really got me excited because PLRs (Private Label Rights Content) will help me build more niche blogs! These are basically packs with ten or so quality articles discussing a particular topic. They could make up the first 10 posts in a blog and get your Google Adsense all showing target market ads while you grow your blog.

Content is king! And winning some quality content is so much fun!

Blog Advertising Via Technorati?

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Technorati rank has always been my priority. It does a lot. I view my backlinks via technorati because the service is so user friendly. Some review sites even consider technorati authority and ranking over other networks.

Now they’re planning on blog advertising. This article at Techcrunch opens up possibilities of promoting a blog more and thus earning more online under the Technorati system. Will it benefit me even if I’m not a tech blogger? Hopefully, yes.

I’m excited to know if it could rival Google’s PPC via Adsense. How much will be the payout and how strong will be their advertiser base.

Why Build A Blogging Blog

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

In this post, I will address a few questions I received regarding my blogging:

Questions:
I have a niche blog, as you know, so why was there a need to build this blog?
Whatever happened to divablogger.com?
Will you stop posting Entrecard-related things on your main blog?

Answers:
1. WHY??

1.a. I have always wanted to provide a backstage view of how I run things at evilwoobie.com (I was going to say ‘backdoor’ view but I realize that it meant another thing to other people). For some reason, a sideblog never worked for me, and frankly there isn’t enough space in my sidebar for a sideblog.

1.b. Marketing, as well as Make Money Online, was an alien concept to me until about 2 months ago when I was exposed to the marketers of the blogosphere. How can you ignore these people when they talk about the blogger’s dream of making money from something we all enjoy doing? I needed a blog where I can discuss the marketing i have been doing in my main blog.

1.c. I need a place where I can do memes and join contests. I realized that subscribers hate to receive those if they subscribed to a blog for another reason (i.e. specific content)

2. Divablogger.com is for sale or for another purpose.

2.a. I love the name of that domain and I know that some do too. If you ever want to buy it, kindly send me your offer using my contact form.

2.b. alternatively (read: if none of you want to pay for it), I’ll use it to channel the diva within. I love girly things and I have quite a collection of such stuff that I’m not ready to share yet. What girl isn’t addicted to blush? Well, maybe a few, but I am definitely one who will buy a 100$ make up set with several shades of blush in em. I might not be ready to share these quirks to the world yet, but maybe someday i can.

3. Entrecard Posts

3.a. The more earth shattering changes, I will discuss there. But daily/weekly entrecard experiences, I will share here.
