Abandoned Blogs
Before I post something about say, “dating online”, I go to the search places and type in my title to know if I have competition for it or how many people have other ideas. I can link them later if they have a nice quotable quote.
I did find a lot of related posts over the blogosphere, but it’s very sad that some blogs have not been updated lately. The latest posts date back to 2002 or 2000. These are abandoned blogs and I want to save them!
First I look if the blogger has a contact page, then I send a polite mail asking if he wants to sell his blog. Sadly, not one contact page is present. I go over the comment section and try to put in my two cents, but I’m greeted with hundreds of spam comments that haven’t been moderated at all. (When was Akismet created again?)
Anyway, it’s very sad. It’s like the blogger just didn’t want to share his experiences with the world anymore. I really dread the day that I get blog burnout. With 4 blogs in tow, that’s a lot of blogosphere clutter. :D
I hope a blog adoption movement gets done soon in some of the blog places. Like blogspot.
